Museum Of Scotland

At the beginning of the month we worked alongside Heritage Portfolio, Finix Productions and The Entertainment Company to showcase the unique event space in the Treasured Gallery and the Hawthornden Court at the National Museum of Scotland. Our favourite part of the event has to be the long table we decorated in the Hawthornden Court. As spring is officially here we used this to our advantage by using an apple green and lavender colour palate.

Thank you to Blue Sky Photography for the two great shots above.

The splash of bright vivid colour variations against the neutral back drop saturated the room. We continued with the green theme by placing golden delicious apples on each napkin, acting also as a place card and finishing all the small pots of lilac Lilac, Muscari , Snow drops and Hyacinths off with fresh moss. Assembly Hall

We utilised the red, green and white colours from the Heineken logo for this contemporary take on a traditional pedestal in the Assembly Halls. Using large sleek black containers to make a great impression against the black and white tiles.

Prestonfield House Hotel

It is always a great joy when past couples send us a few snapshots of their wedding, it gives us an insight into their special day. When Mairi and Paul recently sent in their wedding photographs we fell head over heels in love with them! The photographs were all shot by Duke Studios in Edinburgh. The wedding took place last September in the luxurious Prestonfield House. The modern yet vintage style fits perfectly in to Prestonfields delicious décor making for a romantic ceremony followed by a dreamy reception!

"Just back from honeymoon and wanted to thank you all for our beautiful flowers for our wedding at Prestonfield on Sunday 7 September. They were absolutely breathtaking and just as I'd imagined so thank you so much! From the small vase arrangements, tea lights, large vase arrangement and the silver candleabra in the Garden Room, the magical silver candleabra table centres in Rhubarb, to the gorgeous bouquets, corsages, buttonholes and roses for our wedding cake, everything was perfect and you captured our vintage look to a tee. My Mum and Paul's sister were also thrilled with their gift bouquets and said they'd never seen such lovely bouquets and they lasted so long so thank you so much. The white hydrangeas especially were a bit hit. We have had so many compliments on the wonderful flowers we just had to let you know how happy we were with them and also to let you know that it was an absolute pleasure to work with you. Your customer service and whole approach was fantastic - so friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble and I especially appreciated the time you took to meet with me and show me our flower choice in the fridge (not once but twice when I needed a little reassurance!) and also for letting me see my bouquet the day before to make sure I was happy with it. As you know you were our first choice as I had used you before for corporate events in my previous job and wouldn't hesitate to use you again or recommend you to colleagues, friends and family (in fact I already have loads of times!)"

The photographs, which seem to capture the day to perfection, were shot by Duke Studios.

Hopetoun House

Claire and Martin were married on 15th February in Hopetoun House. They wanted to have a truly 1930's vintage Hollywood glamour wedding and decided to capture this with rich, classic colours - lots of pearls accents and candle light. The little pops of colour from the bouquet are absolutely perfect against Claire's beautiful Jenny Packham dress.

A huge thank you to Claire for the lovely note and the photos from the day.

"I just wanted to say a massive thank you for the flowers you did for our wedding. They were beautiful, especially my bouquet! They really set the venue off and the rich colours added to the candle light to make it really cosy!"

Museum Of Scotland

Sometimes it is the simplest designs that work best! As the Bute room at the National Museum of Scotland is such a blank canvas any colour and ANY style really does work! Pictures taken by Planet team member Steven.

Wedderburn Castle

Lisa and Robin´s wedding is being featured in the April/ May edition of Wedding Flowers Magazine!

We helped Lisa and Robin all the way back in July 2007 at Wedderburn Castle to create their perfect day! Using the colours in Lisa’s Rococo Chocolate bar favours of lavender, sage green and champagne as inspiration we created charming, shabby chic floral arrangements. This set the scene for the loveliest outdoor ceremony.

"No wonder you are called Planet Flowers, because you are such STARS!! Thank you so much for such a beautiful day and for all your hard and dedicated work, you totally transformed the day!" - Mother of the Bride

"A note to thank you so much for our absolutely incredible flowers. It is really difficult to describe how amazing I and all our guests thought they were - to say that they took my breath away is an understatement. We have lots of photos of each decoration and displays and I can't stop looking at them. Thank you too for being so friendly, helpful and efficient. Thank you all once again." Lisa & Robin Perrie

Thanks SO much to Alan & Jackie of Rankine Photography for letting us show you these beautiful photos!

The Howard Hotel

The floral arrangements our team created for The Oval room and Cumberland suite in the Howard Hotel gave an instant sophisticated feel. The room looked so elegant! We complemented the stylish room decor` with our tall martini vases and tall candles giving a romantic atmosphere.

Last June we featured the wedding of Melissa & Kjartan on our blog which took place in the Royal College of Surgeons. We are so excited to see that the editors of Wedding Flowers Magazine thought it was as beautiful as we did! The magazine has featured a full page spread on the absolutely lovely day along with pictures of the truly gorgeous bride!

Hopetoun House

This gorgeous wedding at Hopetoun House was an absolute joy to be involved in. The simple colour palate of green and white worked perfectly for this woodland theme. The key to it was of course the amazingly thought out little details! From the corylus trees with hanging petal cones and birds to the martini vases being filled with bulbs and moss, perfect ways to set a woodland scene!

"All the arrangements were just as I wished. You had interpreted my instructions perfectly. Please pass on our GRATEFUL THANKS to ALL!! It was beautiful, rustic and so simple and elegant in an understated way, which is exactly how I had imagined it. Everybody loved the woodland theme. Ralph and Anna's wedding was such a memorable, enjoyable and happy occasion. Thank you for your contribution to making it so."
