National Galleries of Scotland

Alastair of AMJ Photography kindly featured some of his images of one of our tablescapes at National Galleries of Scotland on his blog this past week.  The event for the Edinburgh Convention Bureau was a small dinner of twenty guests set on one long table (regular bloggers will know about our little obsession with long tables!).  The colours and structure worked extremely well against the brashness of the red walls.  Before leaving the set-up a passer by commented that it was a piece of art itself so of course it fitted perfectly in the room.. how could we not be please with a statement like that!

Dundas Castle

We adored this truly vintage wedding that 88 Events put together at Dundas Castle.  The whole wedding looked so effortlessly gorgeous, but of course you know that every detail was planned out to perfection when Sheila at 88 Events and the wedding team at Dundas Castle are involved!

We met our bride Jackie only once before the wedding as she lived in South Africa but we clicked from the start and were confident we knew the look that she had envisioned for their wedding day. 

Her bouquet was full of lovely textures.. loose and free-spirited was the brief and we loved that, giving us opportunity to pop lots of random little goodies in there!

Our most favourite spot of the marquee has to be this little corner where we placed some chests and filled them with herbs and hydrangea.  Then topped them with urns full of roses, snowberries and hydrangea and placed pails of stock and wax flower to finish off.  Perfect way to fill dead space in a marquee.

Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art

Is it a little to early for talk of autumn?  Possibly a little.. When we designed this tablescape it was definitely far too early for talk of maple leaves, berries and malus apples but it was light relief from our summer filled with frilly hydrangea, pale pink peonies and thousands of garden roses.  Heritage Portfolio asked us to decorate a long table in the Gallery of Modern Art with a natural rustic feel..  Bark covered containers and birch vessels instantly gave that feel leaving us just to fill them with vivid yellows and burnt oranges.

Lennoxlove

This Summer has been so full of the most amazing Planet brides!  We have been spoilt - clients have been pushing us in the direction of all sorts of styles colours and flowers!  Take this sweet as ice cream pink and white wedding at Lennoxlove for example? Who knew we would ever stack carnation, hydrangea and chrysanth balls in a clean, modern contemporary fashion like this??  We so wish we had seen this at night time with all the floating candles lit!   

Hopetoun House

We really enjoyed ourselves whilst bringing together this fresh, clean, elegant and British grown look at Hopetoun House in July for Sara and Richard, not only styling the flowers but being able to pick so much of the flowers from our cutting gardens.
