At the weekend we travelled all the way up to Drumtochty Castle in Aberdeenshire - the scenery was stunning with all the autumn colours and gorgeous landscapes. This was our last autumn themed wedding of the year so we all wanted to enjoy the colour as much as possible!
The bride decided to have a long top table - we always ALWAYS keep top table arrangements low - it's never a good idea to have a tall top table arrangement. The main reason for this is because of speeches - guests always get agitated when they can't see the person making the speech and of course the bride and groom must be visible to all the guests. We decided to use a selection of the flowers from the low guest table arrangements. Keeping each container simple with a single variety of flowers; a little moss cummerbund finished each vase perfectly. Scattering autumnal leaves and berries between each vase was the perfect way to finish the top table.
For an informal look we decided on a mix of low and tall designs on alternate guest tables. The low version was incredibly natural - it had an almost growing wild feel. We used a huge selection of flowers, berries and foliage in the arrangements making sure the textures and colours worked perfectly on the warm linen along with the gold chairs and cutlery.
The tall designs were a little more contemporary than the low version but we still wanted to keep the natural growing style. We layered tall vases with beech leaves and moss, filling them then with birch, berries and orchids. They were stunning - we finished the base of each vase with scattering of autumn goodies - leaves and malus apples with the odd Physalis and Rose hip. All in all this was such a lovely relaxed warm wedding in a stunning venue! All images were captured by Planet team member Steven.
