Lennoxlove House

As wedding season is fast approaching we are truly excited about all the fantastic brides we have the pleasure of working with this year in some of the most fantastic venues! One venue which seems to be popping up more and more regularly for us is Lennoxlove House. It is a fantastic venue for both small intimate weddings and larger weddings with the use of the stunning marquee. Our favourite part of this luxurious venue has to be The Great Hall - although steeped in history, it really is a blank canvas ready for any colour, style or theme. We wanted to show you two similar style weddings in The Great Hall that we brought together in the past working along side Heritage Portfolio. Hopefully showing how using colour really can change the whole feel of the room.

The first wedding was a beautiful, elegant all cream and ivory wedding. The classic bridal colour works perfectly in The Great Hall and with it being quite a dark room it really lifts the colour in the room. Using things like pearls and ribbons helps soften the look of the room and really adds those finishing touches to the sophisticated, simple style.

By adding colour into the arrangements, the room completely changes as you can see from these images of a February wedding. We used rich, luxurious almost velvet colours which work perfectly against the old stone walls and paintings that are already in the room. Heritage Portfolio also used red champagne glass which is a clever way of bringing the colour back to the table. We loved both weddings as both represented the brides vision perfectly! Just shows you what a little colour can do!

As always a huge thank you to Alan and Jackie Rankine of Rankine Photography – you guys are always so generous in letting us use your images!

Mansfield Traquair

We are super excited to have one of our weddings featured on Rock My Wedding blog! Niall and Emma were married in November 2009, in Mansfield Traquair. Their wedding was truly stunning with a modern twist on a winter look being the inspiration to the flower style. Rock My Wedding is one of our favourite UK wedding blogs, always featuring truly unique weddings - such an honour to get featured! A huge thank you to Emma and Niall for letting us submit their wedding and of course Jack Photography for use of their images.

Please pop over to Rock My Wedding to see the full feature - part one AND part two!

The Balmoral Hotel

We hope you all had a lovely Easter weekend - we are all feeling rested after our Sunday off and looking forward to the week ahead. On Good Friday we received our favourite Easter present ever.. lots of seriously lovely photos of Lesley and Craig's wedding at The Balmoral Hotel sent to us from Christina and Jay of Elemental Weddings. You guys are the COOLEST!! We love crossing paths with you and then catching up with all your gossip on Twitter!

Lesley decided to have each bridesmaid in the same colour but wearing different styles of dresses. This is becoming more popular and we think it is such a clever idea. Your bridesmaids are never all the same shape and size so letting the dress suit them but also stay with the theme of the wedding is a fantastic way of keeping everyone happy. These dresses were designed by Mette from Freja - she is über talented, easy going and just plain lovely!!

Many of our clients have issues with sight lines - not wanting any vase or arrangement in the middle of the tables getting in the way of their conversation. This vase doesn't have the problem with it being so tall your guests are able to talk and see everyone without a problem, but we're still able to create the "wow" factor by having a large arrangement.

Please PLEASE take a look at Elemental Photography and their stunning blog - where you can see some more images of this stylish wedding.
