Christmas is here! We were asked to help decorate Hopetoun House for their Christmas Present Event. Adding a little floral festiveness to some corners of the House which are not being used for the Christmas Shopping Fair. We really got in to the spirit of things yesterday designing this festive tablescape in the State Dining Room.
Now as we are moving from autumn to winter, we are seeing many more of our weddings turning to a winter theme. Mansfield Traquair lends itself to pretty much any style you throw at it - it is definitely in Planet’s top 10 wedding venues! One of the best features about Mansfield Traquair to us is that everything takes place in the same room therefore we are able to "re-use" flowers. We can create a dramatic aisle for your ceremony that we can then break down into your table flowers or your alter table can then become a stunning cake table! We adored the wintery feel of this wedding - it felt magical and was such a joy to set. We worked fairy lights through the orchid garlands that we attached to the white willow and the purple water added a pop of colour that works perfectly with the lighting of the arches.
This year at the Assembly Rooms we provided white amaryllis with silver birch detail in low mirrored cubes for the Radio Forth One Awards. As this event is an awards ceremony it´s always important to keep the designs low and unobtrusive yet striking. We look forward to this set up every year, there is always such a buzz around the building - we even spotted Joe McElderry rehearsing!
Every year we have a stand-out favourite floral table design with our brides - this year it has to be our skinny flute vase with Denrobium orchids and hydrangea ball. A few weeks ago the Planet team set this wedding at Mansfield Traquair with the elegant design of ivory Denrobium orchids working perfectly along the long tables. We used chunky candles and small pots of double Eustoma at the base of each vase which added to the warmth of the room décor.
Recently we worked in one of the "Unique Venues of Edinburgh" The Signet Library with the WS Society for their annual dinner. Keeping to seasonal flowers we created large displays of white amaryllis and large headed roses with lush greens - no matter how many times we see The Signet Library fully set with so many tables, especially with large arrangements it never fails to take our breath away.
