Flirty Fleurs

At the beginning of the month we received an email from Alicia Schwede of Flirty Fleurs Blog asking if we would if like to take part in their Fabulous Florist Feature on Flirty Fleurs. Of course we said yes! What an amazing honour! Flirty Fleurs is written by Alicia Schwede of Bella Fiori Events and Andrea Haydon of AK Haydon Floral Designs who are extremely talented floral designers; we came across both of them on the world of Twitter! If you are interested in floral design or just looking for inspiration you must check them out! You can follow Alicia here and Andrea here!

Dundas Castle

When we heard that Lisa's wedding - the owner and Creative Director of More Than Words had been featured on Love My Dress blog we were so excited! Their wedding took place all the way back in 2006 and we had never seen the images from the beautiful day! We were not disappointed - as always Alan and Jackie from Rankine Photography captured the day perfectly. Such an amazing honour to be involved in a wedding that has been featured on Love My Dress blog - it is a must read for all those planning their wedding, constantly full of new fresh wedding inspiration. Please take a look at the full article on Love My Dress blog to get the full story of Lisa and Neils' vintage inspired wedding day at Dundas Castle.

Mansfield Traquair

We delight in opportunities where we can step in and present new ideas in creative floral design - this wedding at Mansfield Traquair definitely gave us that opportunity! The bride and groom were a fantastic couple who we only met for a grand total of 30 minutes before the wedding! They loved hot pink orchids and completely trusted us to use our creative experience and design something new and fresh. Making it a complete surprise on the day - unbelievably right?! Our clients rock!

Hopetoun House

There are just no words to describe how unbelievable it was to make such huge urns of roses at Hopetoun House a few weeks ago. We don’t really think any picture we could show you would do it any justice - they were breathtaking!

Dundas Castle - Part Two

Part two of our spring yellow wedding at Dundas Castle starts with a huge daffodil heart that hung on the Auld Keep door. You can see a brilliant more of this on First Light Photography blog.

Throughout the planning of this wedding we were all sure of one thing - we wanted to create something that no one had seen before, something completely original and something that really challenged our design skills! Together with 88 Events we mocked up several versions of the table flowers but we all knew that this design was "the one" the minute we saw it all come together! The striking design against 88 Events gorgeous dark grey taffeta cloth with the pop of yellow.. perfection! It was a natural progression to replicate the table design on the roof of the marquee - creating yellow calla chandeliers with hundreds of callas.

Rather than the usual mirrored ball hanging over the dance floor we decided to mix it up a little and instead create a double yellow calla and craspedia chandelier.  This wedding was so special - every detail was perfectly finished.. we really were so upset when it was all over. We received such a lovely note of thanks from the mother of the bride.

"Where do I start?... We were so thrilled with all you did for us to make Annabel´s wedding unforgettable. You were both delightful the way you guided us and then came up with such spectacular displays both at the church and Dundas Castle. You certainly waved your magic and made our dreams come true! We couldn´t have wished for more for our daughter. She was bowled over by the pavilion in particular which was breathtaking. We have had so many letters mentioning the flowers - nobody had seen anything quite like it. Thank you both from the bottom of our hearts you made the day magical."
