We love when brides let us give guests an unexpected pop of colour in the reception room.  Carol and Arthur kept things neutral through out the bridal party and ceremony but then add a zest of colour with lilacs, mauve and raspberry pinks to bring some fun into the reception tables at Balbirnie House.

Dovecot Studios

When Christina and Simon asked us to meet them at Dovecot Studios to discuss their wedding plans we were over the moon.  Dovecot Studios is a wedding venue we have had our eye on for sometime now we couldn't wait for the big day. Christina had chosen the most beautiful soft colours as her wedding palette a pale soft peachy pink and a delicate dove grey.  We wanted to bring an autumnal vibe into the day but without using any strong colours so we came up with a concept of a muted autumn!

The Hypericum berry was the perfect match to the bridesmaid dress and the little fabric flowers of the flower girls dress.

The reception room has huge shelves full of wool spools, we picked some of the spools which fit with the colour scheme and used them in lieu of a vase on the drinks reception tables.

Such gorgeous colours, in an amazing venue with perfect photos documenting the day.. our Tuesday is complete!  

National Galleries of Scotland

This year we have been completely smitten with Hydrangea.  The simplicity of urns filled with green and white hydrangea just works so well in rich colour venues like the National Galleries – there is just no need to complicate things by introducing other flowers, textures or colours.

The Howard Hotel

Shades of blush, mint and apple green pair beautifully together in this Howard Hotel wedding.

  

  

"We were absolutely amazed and thrilled at the flowers you did for our wedding.  Everyone who went into the room immediately commented on how beautiful they were.  The flowers on the mantle piece and the candles in the hearth were more lovely than we had imagined and really made it a special place to get married.  All of the flowers, in the vases, the buttonholes, Mary's posy and on the cake were perfect and we wished that we lived in Edinburgh so we could have taken them home!"

Bonfire Night

We are a little late for a Halloween blog post so we are going to have to call this a Bonfire Night post! Last week we installed an event for a birthday party.. not just any birthday party but a Halloween themed party!  It was our first ever event that required not one piece of floristry apart from the scattering of dipped black leaves, we have to be honest and say we enjoyed ourselves a little too much!  Dripping wax and creating creepy spider webs - it was so far away from our summer weddings it was unreal!
