As Halloween is looming we thought we would treat you to some pictures of one of our very favourite Halloween events at Mansfield Traquair with Heritage Portfolio. Who says lighting doesn’t make a difference..
Mansfield Traquair
Mansfield Traquair is a very special venue. It can take everything from traditional classic designs to something utterly contemporary. Speaking of modern, fresh designs, we loved the orange themed long table we set at the beginning of the week in Mansfield. The brown undertones add a bit of depth and dimension, so the end effect isn´t quite as vibrant as your standard orange colourings. Autumn looks are usually very natural and classic but this definitely gives the look a new twist!

Inspire Magazine
We have been featured in the October issue of the professional floral design magazine "Inspire". The magazine is dedicated to all the very best floristry from the UK and abroad, always giving new ideas from top industry florists - "Inspire is a must for anyone serious about design". We were overwhelmed to be contacted by the magazine to find out they wanted to do a double spread feature on Gemma and the floral design team at Planet! WOW!!
"Every now and again, a new name that we’ve never noticed before catches our attention and makes us go WOW, which is exactly what happened when we found about one of Britain's young floral designers who, armed with oodles of true flower power, is wowing happy customers everywhere. At the age of just 24, Gemma Marshall is proving to be one of the UK's most innovative and exciting floral designers. Despite her tender years, her work has recently been recognised internationally with an inclusion in the prestigious International Floral Art 2008/2009 edition, a move that means Gemma is now keen to be featured in further specialist annuals worldwide, hence her inclusion in Inspire. After successfully gaining the highest floral design qualifications going, Gemma joined her mother Rachel's florist business, Edinburgh-based Planet Flowers. Gemma has since become a director of the business and, along with her mother, leads a growing team of enthusiastic floral specialists. Planet Flowers has been responsible for designing the floral arrangements for some of the country's most lavish parties and corporate events. The company has earned an enviable reputation as one of the UK's leading event florists and has worked on special events at many of Scotland's most exciting venues including Edinburgh Castle, Hopetoun House, The Museum of Scotland and Dundas Castle."
The Playhouse
We are always excited when we hear from our friends at Night Train Productions.
Having been involved in so many truly inspired events with them, we
know the Planet teams creative ideas will be pushed to the next level
creating spectacular designs - never knowing what is going to happen
next! Looking through our image archives, our most favorite NTP event has to be the revolving animals at the Playhouse - They looked incredible, it shows you what an insanely talented event crew can do!
"Thank you so much to all at Planet involved in the latest NTP escapade – everything was wonderfully done and so precisely and carefully done - watching you all painstakingly layering and pinning thousands of petals on the animals really highlights what a lot of perfectionists you are. And how much you care about getting it right. Thank you for everything. I especially want to say a big thanks for the last minute “changes” you were so flexible with and completely unflustered by."
