SBAAT Event

We supplied the table arrangements for the annual Scottish Business Achievement Award Trust. This year the event was held in Dundas Castle, near South Queensferry on 22nd May 2008. Over 550 people attended this exclusive event, in the presence of HRH The Princess Royal.

As SBAAT is a charitable trust we also donated “a year’s supply of flowers” for the auction. We were delighted to hear that our action prize raised £1750. Alzheimer Scotland, Edinburgh Cyrenians, Deaf blind Scotland, NSF Scotland Parkhead Youth Project, Revive Scotland – MS Support and The Rock Trust will benefit from funds raised at the lunch.

The Royal College of Physicians

Rachel has been kind enough to send in some images from her wedding in April. She used Heritage Portfolio to create her Moroccan themed cuisine and we had the hard task of thinking out the box to come up with a design which would work along side the food being served on the table.

The Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh is so warm and welcoming with its beautiful Georgian and Victorian rooms but as you can see from the images the Moroccan themed table decorations really brought something of an Arabian night - it just proves that you don't need a lot to make a huge impact.

Thank you so much to Rose at Alastair Burn-Murdoch Photography for permitting us to share these brilliant images and sending through even more detailed shots!

Cumlodden Church

At this time of year all we have in our minds is weddings weddings WEDDINGS here at Planet! It is so important to us to make sure that our flowers are unique to the bride and groom - letting their personality be translated into flowers!

This wedding has been a favourite of ours this year so far. In April we had the amazing experience of travelling up to Lochfyneside and decorating Cumlodden Church. It was so important to the couple to keep in with the decor` of the church and its surroundings. As blue was one of the more prominent colours, we used that as the main colouring, then brought in ivory and pink to add a country feel. Using soft spring flowers guaranteed it would match the scenery around the dainty church.

We were delighted on our return after the wedding to recieve a lovely thank you note from the mother of the groom.

"I just wanted to say again what an outstanding job you did for Charles & Fran’s wedding. You not only read Fran’s mind, you looked into her soul and translated what you found in to flowers from heaven. I am usually a stickler for having everything on paper, drawings etc. I didn’t quite understand or could imagine some of the arrangements you described, but it didn’t worry me one bit. With you I felt in completely safe hands, safe, but inspired. Totally confident. Thank you for your exquisite work."

Mansfield Traquair

Thanks to Ryan of Ryan Paschke Photography for sending in these fab photo's of our work at Mansfield Traquair. He really captured the true feeling of the wedding flowers!! Blue and white is not a usual theme for a wedding but it totally inspired us. Making sure the colours did not look to corporate we softened everything, by using all soft spring flowers and plenty of candles to create a romantic atmosphere.

We are sure you will agree Ryan truly captured all our finishing touches.

RBS Gogarburn

This time last year we provided event flowers for the conference centre at the Royal Bank of Scotland - Gogarburn Branch. We felt we had to share these images with you today - even though it was an event from last year, due to the amazing summery weather we have had!

The bold, strong, eclectic mix of colours really gives you that summer feeling!
