National Museum of Scotland

After being briefed with the concept of an abstract thistle for 65 table decorations at the National Museum of Scotland last week for Heritage Portfolio we designed these table installations.   Thousands of liatris were used for the colour of the thistle and moss cups for the base to give the overall shape of a traditional Scottish thistle.  Once the event designers mentioned using the charcoal damask table cloths we knew we wanted to bring in that colour to give a modern look so we used our grey stands as the stem of the thistle.  The overall look was terrific - we loved the pop of colour from the alternate raspberry table cloths!
