Hopetoun House

In all our years as wedding and event florists no matter the floral fashion the simple combination of roses and thistle has always been popular.  Of course when we say thistle we don't mean the prickly pinky purple thistle you see growing wild in Scotland but the slightly more friendly Eryngium. It comes in many varieties of all shapes and sizes and more recently green/white Eryngium has also became available.  Blue Sky Photography sent us some images from Irene and Gordon's wedding at Hopetoun House last year and it reminded us how although some would say it was quite a rustic flower; that paired with roses, in a crystal vase or an ornate candelabra it can have an elegant style to it.  It is an added texture, with a subtle colour that nods to the fact you are getting married in Scotland but without having to shout about it.. if you're not so inclined that is! Thanks to Blue Sky for the images.. our not so flowery highlight is most definitely the flower girls hair.. CUTE!
