Hopetoun House

There are just no words to describe how unbelievable it was to make such huge urns of roses at Hopetoun House a few weeks ago. We don’t really think any picture we could show you would do it any justice - they were breathtaking!

 

Dundas Castle - Part Two

Part two of our spring yellow wedding at Dundas Castle starts with a huge daffodil heart that hung on the Auld Keep door. You can see a brilliant more of this on First Light Photography blog.

Throughout the planning of this wedding we were all sure of one thing - we wanted to create something that no one had seen before, something completely original and something that really challenged our design skills! Together with 88 Events we mocked up several versions of the table flowers but we all knew that this design was "the one" the minute we saw it all come together! The striking design against 88 Events gorgeous dark grey taffeta cloth with the pop of yellow.. perfection! It was a natural progression to replicate the table design on the roof of the marquee - creating yellow calla chandeliers with hundreds of callas.

 

    

 

 

Rather than the usual mirrored ball hanging over the dance floor we decided to mix it up a little and instead create a double yellow calla and craspedia chandelier.  This wedding was so special - every detail was perfectly finished.. we really were so upset when it was all over. We received such a lovely note of thanks from the mother of the bride.

"Where do I start?... We were so thrilled with all you did for us to make Annabel´s wedding unforgettable. You were both delightful the way you guided us and then came up with such spectacular displays both at the church and Dundas Castle. You certainly waved your magic and made our dreams come true! We couldn´t have wished for more for our daughter. She was bowled over by the pavilion in particular which was breathtaking. We have had so many letters mentioning the flowers - nobody had seen anything quite like it. Thank you both from the bottom of our hearts you made the day magical."

Dundas Castle - Part One

This is a very late blog post on the most stunning yellow wedding we have ever been involved in - why have we waited until June to blog an April wedding we hear you ask? Well, we wanted to carry on enjoying this wedding as long as we could without saying goodbye to its amazing design elements, brilliant colours and general gorgeousness. Recently, Ditte from First Light Photography sent over some of their beautiful photography of the bridal flowers and we thought how can we not show all of our blog readers now?!

So this is part one..

Annabel felt it was important to keep the bridal flowers classic and understated, letting the reception flowers really be the show stopper on the day. We love using seasonal flowers so all of the bridal flowers were spring flowers. Annabel held a bouquet of white lilac, paper whites, white ranunculus with a slight accent of rosemary, finished with a satin green ribbon.

Each bridesmaid held a different variety of lemon spring flowers - we LOVE this look! The bouquets were all finished with a black petersham ribbon to match their dress sash.  The little flower girl just looked beyond sweet! We made a light rosemary, ranunculus and hyacinth pip circlet for her that fitted perfectly and she held a cute little pomander to match.

Cameron House

This was such a modern wedding with lots of clean lines and strong shapes. We used a minimum amount of flower varieties letting the calla lilies be the main focus at this wedding ceremony at Cameron House. We loved the aisle markers - tall vases of leaning calla lilies taking inspiration from this wedding back in October.

Duddingston House

We worked alongside Heritage Portfolio to showcase the new unique venue Duddingston House. There were three main rooms we decorated - each completely different from the next. We were asked to design something very masculine and low for the Ballroom to showcase it´s versatility as a boardroom. We used mixed sizes of cactus in mirrored and brushed steel containers, softening the look slightly with green cymbidium orchids.

 

 

Blair Estate

We’re ecstatic to share this glamorous wedding that took place at Blair Estate. 88 Events Company commissioned us to design the floral and feather installations. Many thanks to Fiona MacNeil for sharing these images.
